Houkago Teibou Nisshi - Episode 3 - Makoto Picks Up Hina Natsumi

We got a hint that Makoto might be strong when she picked up Yuuki by her collar last episode, but she proved it by picking up two young girls.



Makoto showed Natsumi and Hina how strong she is by offering to pull them along in their fishing cart dubbed The Sea King. They decided not to ride in there and look like farm children.



The plan of the day was to catch flathead fish at a shallow location. While Makoto and Natsumi chose to move around the shore frequently, Hina stuck with the more relaxed Yuuki.

Hina's beginner's luck brought the lone flathead catch of the day. She needed some help reeling it in because it was bigger and stronger than she expected. She chastised it thoroughly for scaring her.

The fisher's responsibility to the caught fish is humanely kill it and gut it. Hina gets easily grossed out, so no gutting for her. It took her a while to recover from killing the flathead and found her meal already prepared. Too bad she fainted again when she saw the special miso soup that went with the flathead sashimi. The tradition is that the catcher gets the fish head. Hina was not prepared for that! Also, unfortunately, this will be the last episode for a while because the COVID-19 pandemic forced Japan to take quarantine measures, affecting most of the nonessential and collaborative industries.
