Arte - Episode 4 - Arte Eats Meat

Arte listened to her Master Leo that eating properly is part of her job as an artist.

Leo took Arte to meet one of his patrons, Veronica, a successful courtesan. Perhaps seeing something of herself in Arte's proto-feminist attitude, she asked Leo to let Arte paint her next portrait.

Arte's time with Veronica opened her eyes to what independent women face in their society, from how love can ruin a career, how artisans needs to their work well, and how each trade has different tools to practice their art. A courtesan such as Veronica uses many techniques to capture a man's emotions, which Arte didn't like, but she grudgingly admired Veronica's skill.

Arte took Veronica's lessons to heart after she realized Leo explained things the same way as it applied to the trade of art. She quashed her crush on Leo and painted Veronica to capture that charming but calculating smile. Of course, they became friends afterwards. Women are like that.
