Both Ishtar and Ereshkigal had the same reaction, naturally, to Fujimaru's audacious plan to defeat Tiamat.
Using the combined power of Fujimaru's Command Spell and Ishtar's Noble Phantasm of shooting the entire planet of Venus, the good guys thought they had defeated Tiamat. After double-checking the episode number, we should have known it wouldn't be that easy.
I'm not sure if destroying the small version of Tiamat just awakened the full-sized Tiamat quicker because it also destroyed her bonds, but at any rate, a huge dragon lady with the proportions befitting the Mother of Creation rose out of the sea.
After returning to Gilgamesh with the bad news that Tiamat would arrive in two days, Ereshkigal's sudden call to the king about all the souls showing up in the Underworld gave Fujimaru and Gilgamesh a terribly wonderful idea. Since the only way to defeat Tiamat was if there was no spark of life anywhere for her draw on, they could just stick her in the Land of the Dead!
Normally, opening a gate to the Underworld big enough to bring Tiamat in would take Ereshkigal ten years to build. Normally... But Ereshkigal has been nursing a grudge against the city of Uruk for that long and she was only three days away from completing it! This was good news and infuriating news for Gilgamesh. So, they just need to delay Tiamat for a day from reaching Uruk and Ishtar's Bull of Heaven Gugallana. Unfortunately, she's been looking for him since episode 1! The squad's next goal is to find this missing bull in two days. I have a feeling Gugallana might be in the Underworld, since that's the same name as Ereshkigal's husband in Sumerian mythology...
