The Dark Territory forces and Human Guardians find a common enemy as live players invade Underworld.
Episode 12 - "Ray of Light"
Hmm.
Miller keeps his eye on the prize in SAO. He's not in Underworld to win a war, make friends, or be a good ruler. He's there to get Alice's soul. He was also going to destroy the whole operation, so he doesn't care about his side in the game. He's only on one side — his own.Unfortunately, his tactics appear to be too short-sighted, because he's not the only one flying on a dragon. Of course, the audience didn't see him plan on bringing in live players to Underworld, so he may have a solution or two to drag things out, depending on how many holes the author needs to write himself out of.
Speaking of plot holes, Code 871 did show up this week, in Iskahn the Fist Fighter Champion's eye. He immediately plucked it out, which was a good thing. But then, when speaking with his erstwhile allies to deal with the live player horde, he said he couldn't disobey his emperor if he gave him the order to attack the Human Guardians. Maybe his followers couldn't, but he certainly could, because he has no painful failsafe holding him back any more. Just file that one away in the thick inconsistencies folder and move on.
Heh.
These live players are just killing everybody! Miller just wanted to make a big ball of chaos to pluck Alice out of and complete his mission.Asuna will save everyone, provided her headache doesn't knock her out. She made a mountain range! Let the Integrity Knights share some glory now. Bercouli is the "yoshi!" guy.
Iskahn doesn't like what he's seeing with these new guys attacking his people. There it is! Code 871! Ouch. Pluck that eye out before it explodes. Champion knows he's going to have allies to take care of those red guys. Nice teamwork with his lieutenant throwing a stepping stone for him to jump over the chasm.
Sheyta is having fun slashing everyone. Ouch again. Asuna lost an arm. Iskahn protected her. He just needs her to make some bridges. These beta player accounts must be at level 1, because they're terrible. But there are so many of them and they're supposedly more creative than the artificial souls. Supposedly.
Here's the chance Miller was looking for. Alice forgot that she was the objective. Iskahn didn't like hearing what Emperor Vecta really thinks about Underworld and the Dark Territory. Sheyta and Iskahn make a nice pair. He remembered her name, at the very least. She just made a declaration of love! They can't have him! Because she needs to be the one to slash him…
Okay, back to the boring part. Vassago got dumped on the floor instead of left in the interface room? I guess it's the best way to multitask and be there when he wakes up. Dying tires a guy out, huh? Critter is going to dump another 20,000 live players on top of the Humans? How sucky was this Dark Territory Army?
Oops, Vassago remembered Asuna. Oh. He hopes Kirito must be in there too if Asuna entered the game. Vassago wants back in. Meanwhile, both sides are doing the exact same things. Japanese veterans will be coming in via satellite with their converted accounts, taking out tens of thousands of grunts. But the pure gods of VRMMO are using the native interfaces.
That person in the light has a big bow… It's Sinon! Well, that attack is just not fair! Will she be mistaken as another goddess, or an angel? The Scooby Gang begins its counterattack on the Gabe Miller Band.
Next time, see you in April when the anime starts broadcast again in Spring 2020.
