Captain Burns offered to tell Shinra the truth about the night his house burned down, but only if he could prove his flame's worth.
Shinra was quiet and not his usual hot-blooded self when he finally came back to the 8th's firehouse and its usually calm exterior of Iris sweeping the front sidewalk. He had to heal and process many things he found out.
Captain Burns was indeed the fire force captain who rescued him the night of his family's calamity. To summarize, the White Cloaks awakened Sho's powers, turned his mom into the horned demon Shinra saw when she combusted, and all of that awakened his own pyrokinetics. Captain Burns himself had seen something that burned his eye just like the demon mom, who put out the flame by forcefully moving her horns to her eye sockets. That image of a demon with horns in its eyes from the credit sequences over the two seasons was referring to Shinra and Sho's mother!
Well, Shinra is home, people got to party, and it was a fun two seasons' worth of fiery action and watching capable, sexy women stomp on men when they could. Hibana came by to make "gravel" do things for her. Tamaki did not do any lucky pervert things for a change. But Maki still hallucinates people calling her a gorilla when she's uncertain about her femininity. Arthur didn't deserve that!
