When the serpent goddess claimed she was going to use Mystic Eyes of Petrification, the other Heroic Spirits realized they weren't actually facing Tiamat.

Things looked pretty grim when a huge snake popped out of the ground in the form of Tiamat. Merlin was going to buy Mash and Fujimaru time to escape, but when he realized he was dealing with Gorgon and her stone-turning eyes, he needed them to protect him from becoming unconscious. That's a really big hint to what he's doing there with Ana.

Leonidas recognized Gorgon and dealt her a terrible blow, as did Ushiwakamaru, but their attacks were not enough to counter her strange healing power. The fake Enkidu and Gorgon have some kind of plan to deal with the other goddesses so they can take over as the heirs to humanity. Seems complicated.
