Sir Nighteye gave Midoriya a practical test before he would approve him as an intern — stamp his own approval on his contract.
Nighteye proved to be a bigger All Might nerd than Midoriya was, but only because he was an adult, had money, and was All Might's partner up until All Might defeated All For One the first time. However, Midoriya made up the gap with his passion.
The epilogue showed Deku making his first big pro hero decision — save a little girl, or keep up his surveillance on the one harming that little girl.
