10 Second Anime - Shokugeki no Soma S4 - Episode 2

The 2nd Bout continues with Mimasaka using his Perfect Trace on Soumei's amazing sushi skills.

Episode 2 - "Strobe Light, Flash"

Hmm.

In this weeks's Shokugeki no Soma, Eishi brought out one of his utensils that probably was the one thing most responsible for giving him the nickname of the White Knight of the Table — that extra long grater. Later on in the manga, after the events here, the more recent plot had him using that long grater again in a situation where someone is collecting the unique utensils of chef's from all over the world. The events in this episode were probably the inspiration for all the strange tools and techniques we saw in the manga. I also hadn't thought too hard about why Eishi's depiction of a knight had him swinging around a sword. It was that huge grater! It seems kind of late in the game to finally and fully explain Eishi's title and imagery.

Heh.

Eizan really needs his revenge against Souma. Eishi is all about the ingredients. He really boiled the different kinds green tea down to their different flavor profiles and temperature activations. Nice. Eishi at full power brings out his grating sword. That's the real reason he was called the White Knight of the Table.

Oh, hey! This is team shokugeki. Team mates can do other things for you while you do your own thing. The rebels have been doing this from the beginning. Have the Central-endorsed Council members admitted they need help in the kitchen yet? Mimasaka is still creepy after all these years. His tsundere Nene is quite disturbing.

Mimasaka made smoked soy sauce to go with Kuga's smoked pork. Green tea leaves are somewhere in all of this. Mimasaka drew the maguro tuna card, which just happens to be Soumei's specialty. He has worse luck than Souma! Yuuki is harsh but fair.

Dark Urara finally gets to have a foodgasm worth three seasons of holding back. It was quite worth it for the audience.

Anne looks like she's gotten over her buzz. She's totally ready to taste four dishes all at once. The Bookmen of the WGO have very experienced tongues! She hugs that tuna and cayenne pepper like a hug pillow. I take it she won't hug green tea the same way.

Total defeats for the rebels. Mimasaka missed out on Soumei's fewer sushi cuts for smaller pieces, due to lack of experience. Megishima lost to Rindo due to her changing the mild alligator meat to match the spiciness of the cayenne pepper. It's all down to Kuga's smoked soy sauce to see if he can finally beat Eishi in the next episode.

It appears that the end card will always be previewing the next big foodgasm with Megumi freaking out about it. Anne looks she's going to go nucking futs about some amazing taste.
