Statues are getting dressed in yellow as the French towns along the route of the Tour de France celebrate 100 years of the maillot jaune.
A common sight in this year's edition of the Tour de France will be statues dressed in yellow. In the Stage 4 finishing town of Nancy, France, Stanislas wears a yellow mantle as he overlooks Place Stanislas. In the town of Bar-le-Duc, the inventor of the bicycle pedal, Pierre Michaux, gets a yellow jersey and bike shorts.
