10 Second Anime - One Punch Man S2 - Episode 11

Garou takes on Death Gatling and other Pro Heroes. Bang finally catches up to his former student.

Episode 11 - "Each One's Dignity"

Hmm.

As Garou continues on his path away from humanity towards monstrosity, he's going to have pivotal moments that show pieces of his humanity being stripped away. So far, it's looked like he's only played at being a monster and been more like a villain in his hero hunting ways. He's still deferential towards children, and kids still seem to like him too. That changed in this episode when his hero guide buddy Tareo ran away at the ugly villain he had become in defeating the heroes he so admired.

It was an exquisite irony that Garou's action in deflecting all of Death Gatling's bullets saved Tareo's life but it also marked Gatling's defeat because his ultimate attack uses up all his ammo. Saving a child's life to defeat a hero, and then have that child's sympathies still lie with the hero is a great step toward Garou's monster transformation.

Another piece of humanity being stripped away from Garou will definitely be forcing a separation from his father figure Master Bang. Usually that comes with the monster killing its parent, but we'll have to see how that plays out for Garou next episode. For sure, Garou doesn't look like he'll be convinced to reconcile or rehabilitate himself from facing Bang, but Bang has already decided he needs to put down a rabid dog.

A fun bit with Saitama on the other side is how he recruited another hero on the path of true heroism. Megane saw him defeat a monster when all his Team Fubuki colleagues were already down, and he told him to forget about limits and just move forward if he has time to be depressed about his shortcomings. Megane now wears a track suit and appears to be following the Saitama training plan of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and a 10 km run daily. He'll be Bald Megane in no time!

Heh.

Death Gatling has a complex about S-Class heroes like most of the other A-Class heroes do.

Garou has another flashback of siding with the villain instead of the hero in a popular anime.

Garou is fighting smart - feints, ruses, using heroes' weapons against each other.

He's got a blade! Wait, he's not allowed to have a blade? So unfair!

Nice. Garou uses Megane as a shield against Death Gatling's guns.

Megane has a flashback to Saitama saving his life. Saitama says Master Saitama things, "If you have time to break down and cry, you're better off just moving forward."

Garou is going to protect Tareo better than these heroes.

Whoa. Garou truly is a master of the fist of flowing water. He deflected all those bullets.

Aw. The kid's scared of him now. He ran away.

And just when Garou thought it was over, here comes Genos! Megane was able to hit his emergency button, which King ignored.

I am loving these metallic sound effects from Genos' rocket assisted punches. He's actually getting some shots into Garou!

And we're back to Saitama's crushing defeat. He plays fighting games just like he fights in real life. One Attack! Over and over and over. King says he'll feel better when he wins one, but 81-0 is not looking good.

Speaking of S-Class emergency calls, Genos has been missing for over day. The audience knows that he got destroyed and then repaired, but Saitama doesn't know that.

Ha! Saitama is sure Genos is fine, because he's Genos, after all. But then he remembers Genos always getting destroyed by powerful monsters, because he's Genos, after all... He's going to go find him.

Garou needs a change since it's clear Genos has figured out his techniques and rhythm. Fight like Watchdog Man!

Genos didn't need that arm anyway. Oops, he never lost it! Rocket Punch! Rocket Snare!

And Garou is still formidable, breaking out of that trap. Genos' arm was strong, but the tree he tied Garou up to was weak.

Ah. That's how Garou's hair turned red. He wiped his bloody hands all through his white hair.

Uh oh. Genos just told Garou the Hero Hunter who the Ultimate Hero is, Master Saitama.

Gah! Suddenly monsters! They want Garou bad.

Man, metal looks so good in this art direction. In static frames, of course, since there's no fluid in-between frames...

And Bang kicks the crap out of Garou before Genos burned the rest of the crap out of him.

It's finally time for the Teacher to discipline his Student.
