M Squad officially welcomed Asuka into their team, but they were most happy about Asuka actually liking their selection of welcome party food, since they were just army rations.
This week, we're introduced to another of the Legendary Five, Tamara. She's a Russian who helped Asuka gather up her courage right before they saved the world after losing four more of their team members.
Random gates, which connect to either the Spirit or enemy Disas realms, are probably how all this magical girl tech is being propagated through the black market. M Squad has to deal with a Russian gang taking advantage of one that appeared in Japan.
The Russian connection brought Tamara to Japan as a kind of insurance policy to take care of their own problems. Magical Girl Phoenix Tamara cornered the one who got away and picked up what he bought which is somehow connected to Babel Brigade.
Leyla, a Russian operative for another mage, has an assignment for Geiss in Japan. Good guys, bad guys? We'll find out next time during the very special beach and bikini episode!
