The OP credits for Boarding School Juliet hint at a lot of harem action for poor Romio who just wants to spend time with tsundere Juliet.

Romio has eyes only for Juliet, but his subordinate Hasuki shows a lot of devotion towards him too, much to the jealousy of the other guys in Black Doggy House and the scorn of the girls.

This Dahlia Academy houses the elite kids of two states at war with each other, who bring their animus with them. Juliet is a target for harassment as the leader of her class. Romio stopped this particular humiliation for going too far with his secret love.

Of course, a duel is the perfect time for Romio to confess his longtime love for his rival Juliet. It's not like she denied she didn't feel the same way about him, so that was as good as a yes for anime purposes.

I was groaning a bit during the high concept premise exposition for why these kids are fighting each other all the time, but then I saw Hiro Mashima draw Juliet as Lucy with a white Persian cat version of Happy, and I figured I'd give the show another episode to try out.
