Akari wants to join the beach volleyball club for a specific reason and she shows Kanata how prepared she is to commit because she already bought a swimsuit.
No, this is not a new show called Akari Receive about a beach volleyball idol, although that is exactly Akari's plan for herself.
Speaking of beach volleyball idols, the Thomas sisters and Narumi and Ayasa are pretty much the real deal, but they're more like gravure models because of the sports magazine coverage.
So, Akari's plan is to rocket to the top of the beach volleyball idol superstars by pairing with Claire or Emily, or both, whatever. She doesn't really care about joining the club, dashing Claire's hopes to be an official club with 5 members instead of a branch off the regular volleyball club.
The Thomas sisters say no, and Akari says no to Kanata and Haruka. Gong! Like the Gong Show! D'oh!
Before Haruka and Kanata do some meddling with the lonely former celebrity Akari, Haruka has to "discipline" Kanata by always talking about her "ex-girlfriend." Haruka knows how to make a girl weak in the knees...
In a pretty sneaky way, Kanata gets Akari to agree to a singles match betting on joining the club, and uses her defensive reads to totally stuff her.
It was all about the power of friendship anyway. Playing volleyball is fun and it's even more fun with friends. Tsun-tsun Akari now has four friends and she can get on TV if she follows the Thomas sisters around too. She's still totally ignoring Haruka and Kanata... gong!
Somehow Summer is already over and Akari is very protective about girls' skin and how they need to cover up. They live in Okinawa... And also suddenly, Mama Marissa has come to visit.
This post is still 3 years old, so I'm safe to say it's nice to meet an Anime that is based on my two favorite things: Women's Volleyball and cute/hot girls. ��
