With only 79 total mountain points left in the Tour after Stage 17, Julian Alaphilippe has almost mathematically eliminated his closest rival Warren Barguil, with a 67 point lead. Peter Sagan confirmed his sprint points victory several stages ago, with almost 300 points separating him and Alexander Kristoff.
