The girls get some loving attention in the opening credits. We'll meet Kaoruko soon enough, and Ayano obviously has some issues following her mother Uraka.



The animation did not skimp on showing the effort Nagisa made in playing against Ayano at this tournament. And she still lost 21 to nothing. Ouch.

Nagisa is supposed to be the hard working character whose efforts get rewarded, but her utter defeat had her inflicting her frustrations on the other badminton club members. Not a good look for the supposedly sympathetic suporting character.

The true hero of the show, no not Ayano Hanesaki the namesake of the show, is her best friend Elena. As soon as we see her eating something, we'll have everything we need for the "she protecc, she attacc, but most of importantly she snack" memes. Oh, and Ayano really is a genius.

Meet secret weapon Coach Kentarou. Miyako-sensei is his greatest fan!
