Gin remembered her trip to the Antarctic three years ago. Kanae hadn't changed much, but Takako's missing presence was felt.



Mari belatedly realized how serious traveling by ship was and pored over the manual again. Meanwhile, Shirase fell in love with Mari's stuffed penguin.

The girls noticed something was "off" about the mission to Antarctica and set off to spy on the adults.

Hinata and Mari brought back a little perspective to Shirase and Yuzuki who were worrying a little too much about how the funding and manpower were much smaller than three years ago. Takako's death affected PR badly and people obviously lost confidence in the civilian mission.
