Karen and Tasuku go on a double date with their partners Keita and Aguri at an amusement park. Konoha drags Chiaki there too.
DAY 11 - "Gamers and Youth Continue"
Hmm.
More like, the same misunderstandings continue. Unfortunately, they modified a retired misunderstanding in Aguri cheating with Keita. Now it's more like, "do they actually belong together?" Keita was a socially awkward gamer nerd before hanging out with Aguri. Now he's the conscientious "boyfriend" of his big sister type friend Aguri. Isn't it better if he ends up with her? Uh, how about NO!
Konoha has also taken a page out of Tasuku's handbook in trying to get Chiaki together with Keita. Like "coincidentally" showing up at the same World of Warcraft, er, ah, Viva Spiel Kingdom amusement park as the established couples' double date. Why are the pretty people in this show so manipulative?
Anyway, nothing gets resolved properly even if there are gestures of "creating indisputable facts." Yeah, we've seen these gestures before of hand holding and hugging and whatever. A whole lot of good it did these paranoid, self-doubting teenagers. Can we please get back to the fun stuff of making meta jokes at the expense of video games and make slice of life touching jokes about friendship? We've been spinning around these misunderstandings like that spinner on Game of Half-Life for too long already.
Heh.
Tasuku and Karen commiserate over Aguri making Keita into a better man. I think they're just jealous of their friendship and want to monopolize their time.
Let's create an indisputable fact (of a non-cheating relationship). Ooh, Karen has a dirty mind. Lots of hand holding and shoulder to shoulder sitting in that fuzzy head of hers, I'm sure.
Ha! Drab mid-town vibe at the amusement park. Code for cheap backgrounds.
There it is. That Japanese convention of speaking whole sentences in blinks and sidelong glances. If this were a better written comedy, Tasuku and Karen would totally misinterpret what the other was blinking.
Getting Konoha involved with Chiaki's love life felt more like a rehash of Tasuku's earlier efforts before Aguri and Keita started hanging out and he got distracted by doubt and despair. It's like she was introduced only to keep the plates spinning instead of finally stacking them for "game over."

Ha! You go, Chiaki gurrlll! Make that man a slave to your overwhelming charms! There's no moe graphics in that dating sim in the back of your mind. Konoha should be the expert in those things, moe art design or not.
Those scenes of indisputable facts during the end credits, with different animators no less, felt like a season finale. Chiaki's situation didn't have a resolution, but she had hope. Keita felt like he was going somewhere with Karen, until he stepped in an open gutter (not exactly the toilet bucket he was talking about for cheeky double daters to get their due karma). But then the end card said, "to be continued."

Hey! Niina-senpai finally showed up in the end card. Still no Aguri. Probably no cheesecake for her, since it's likely they'll have a full cast on the card for the season finale.
