Some scenes from my river trails ride on June 10th. There were quite a few cyclists on the San Gabriel River Trail and that was mainly due to the Tour de Cure (charity ride for diabetes) relocating from Los Angeles to Baldwin Park, using the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area as their new base.
The best part of the ride was finding camaraderie with cyclists who ride for the enjoyment of pain. Yeah, we're crazy like that, but who else can appreciate gallows humor of running up to the red line for heart rate for ten minutes. "Have fun! Hahahahaha..."
So, there was a lot of sharing the road with road cyclists, recreational riders, children, an organized charity event, and even a couple of horses. Fun.
