Tour Tidbit du Jour - 7/2/2017

Tour de France 2017 - 02/07/2017 - Etape 2 - Düsseldorf / Liège (203,5 km) - Belgique - Geraint THOMAS, Vasil KIRYIENKA et Christopher FROOME (TEAM SKY) © ASO/Pauline BALLET

After the Stage 1 time trial, Team Sky saw two of its riders wearing leaders' jerseys. Geraint Thomas, the winner of the stage, obviously gets to wear the overall leader's Yellow Jersey. He also got 20 points by winning the stage, but since he can't wear two jerseys, the Green Jersey was "loaned" to 2nd place finisher Vasil Kiryienka. It looks like Chris Froome also rode himself into the Young Rider's White Jersey, but that's actually being worn by Stefan Küng of BMC. The Sky jerseys for the Tour just incorporate a lot of white instead of their usual black with blue race stripes. Also, Froome turned 32 years old this past May, so he's just a bit outside the rule of being less than 26 years old at the start of the calendar year.
