10 Second Anime - Masou Gakuen HxH - Episode 10

The reappearance of Dr. Nayuta brings more questions than answers. Ataraxia makes their final preparations to retake Japan.

Episode 10 - "Eve of Decisive Battle -INSTALL-"

Heh.

Nayuta Hida is cool and mysterious. She told Kizuna that she went to the Batlantis side to "continue her research." Double Agent? Triple Agent? Traitor? Mad scientist? I think we can only be sure of the last one.

She kept awfully specific track of how long it's been since she's seen Kizuna. Over 7 years.

Meanwhile, she just called Reiri stupid.

And it turns out, she wasn't even there! She was just a hologram. Was the Love Room based on her research too?

We started getting names of the other Batlaneans. Ragres is the pettanko drillhead. She has all the insecurities a walking cliché like her character design should have.

The mousy portal girl is named Varde. Both of them were extremely deferential to Nayuta. Things will have to be explained about her position on the other side.

As Kizuna's mom left, she told him to come to Tokyo to see "something interesting." They were going there anyway, so he'll get that chance.

The bulk of the episode was standing around listening to an exposition dump. It turns out an anonymous source was responsible for Ataraxia discovering Eros' real powers. Another anonymous source in Guam left data for the breakthrough in closing the Entrances. Reiri believes both data came from her mom.

So, is Nayuta setting both sides up against each other for her "research?" It's an interesting plot point that would have had better effect if it didn't come from just listening to words.

The other part of the episode was some awkward implied sexuality with young preteen Sylvia. She needed to have an HxH core installed and Kizuna needed to give it to her. Sylvia interpreted his reluctance, in having another girl's low hybrid count endangering her life, as rejection. This was all silly since he sought her out, but it all ended well (maybe) with Sylvia naked and exhausted in bed. That's closer to Lolita than just loli references.

Lastly, Aine dealt with her issues of her recovered memories by putting on the brittle tough girl attitude she had when we first met her.

It was fitting that she basically repeated the scene of her first meeting with Kizuna. The only thing she didn't do was ask him to worship her.

One question answered for me was that Kizuna did remember her from his lab days. Now I have another question: does Aine remember him?

No matter. Aine's issues will be dealt with in the Love Room, I'm sure.

It's time to invade Japan.

The girls suit up, but they don't fight. They have an infiltration mission instead.

Reiri has to manage defending their megafloat.

Kizuna flew up into Tokyo and found... a normal city setting with people walking around doing holiday shopping. What!?

It's clear now that this is where the flashforward took place, judging from the slightly snowing skies.

Is the scene real? Or one big hologram? That's a nice cliffhanger. Almost like a Twilight Zone episode.

Geh.

Interestingly enough, hardly anything to get ready for this week.

Oh, but Sylvia needed to get ready for her brief NSFW scene to have THAT done to her.

Nice Barbie Doll nudity you got going on there... I have no idea how Heart Hybrid Gear gets "installed." All we know is that Sylvia got naked and Kizuna skipped out on her later on like a one night stand.

That big egg looking thing was the "core," but what did he do with it? Why is she so tired? Where did it go? Why did he have to install it when he didn't do so for the other girls? Or maybe he did 7 years ago? So many uncomfortable questions...

The only other bit of nudity, besides a flashback of Aine from last week, was an angst and steam-filled shower scene. I think we can guess at why it was such a big deal for her to say she wanted to do a Climax Hybrid in that first episode flashforward.

Next time, Kizuna buys Christmas cake and fried chicken in downtown Tokyo. Wait, I mean, there's some fighting and junk as his mother explains everything. Maybe. Maybe there'll just be cake?
