Tour Tidbit du Jour - 7/7/2016

Yukiya Arashiro was in the 2 man breakaway on Stage 6 of the Tour. @letour.

Yukiya Arashiro, along with Fumiyuki Beppu, were the first Japanese nationals to complete the Tour de France, doing so in 2009 on two different teams. Technically, he's the first Japanese to do so as he finished 112th to Beppu's 129th placing. Two Japanese had started the Tour previously, but did not finish. Daisuke Imanaka started the 1996 Tour, but missed the time cut on the 14th stage. Kisso Kawamuro started both the 1926 and 1927 Tours, as an individual without a team, but abandoned both times on the first stage.
