Tour Tidbit du Jour - 7/3/2016

Mark Cavendish and Peter Sagan each wore their first ever yellow jerseys at The Tour on Stage 1 and 2. It's not unusual for a rider at The Tour wear the leader's jersey for the first time in their careers during the first week of a Grand Tour. It's not even unusual for the leader's jersey to switch wearers from stage to stage. What is unusual is for veteran sprinters and classics riders like Cavendish and Sagan to have never have won the Yellow Jersey when they have both won the Green Sprinters' Jersey. Back to back veteran newbies as the overall leader is an unusual occurrence.
