Recruiting for an undocumented club goes about as well as expected for Chika.



Dia, the student council president, seems to know an awful lot about how the School Idol contest works. Hmm...



Chika won't be discouraged. She's ready to Start:Dash!! on her own to establish her club.



And there it is! The signature face up in the camera for a Love Live! idol group.


The opening credits show that Chika was successful in forming her school idol group. What's important for the series is how they got there.


It looks like the Sunshine girls will have little subgroups within the main nine. Chika and You are the foundation.


Hanamaru and Ruby form another unit. Both have their quirks, like Ruby freaking out when somebody other than Hanamaru touches her and Hanamaru's little "zura" exclamation.


Yohane, the self-proclaimed fallen angel, literally falls out of the sky. Unfortunately for her fallen angel persona, Hanamaru recognized her from kindergarten. That odd way of making a scissors is almost anatomically impossible to do.



It looks like the Hanamaru-Ruby pairing is going to be a threesome.



Dia, the Student Council President, looked like she shot down the School Idol Club because Chika wasn't serious enough about it. I sense some pain from disappointment lingering there.




Dia is wrong and right about Chika. Chika is serious about the Love Live contest, just not serious about the details.



You hoped things were going to be okay...



We always need a calm big sister type like Kanan. Even better, this one wears skinsuits and bikinis all the time.




Dia said there wasn't one girl in the school who could write songs for a School Idol group. Riko, a transfer student from a certain alpaca-loving school, was about to have a fateful encounter.

Even though You is already on the swim club, she's going to help out her friend with being one of the minimum 5 members Chika needs.



Two names is not good enough! But Chika needs to advertise to get members! That's still putting the cart before the horse, Chika.



Oho! This song-writing girl who wanted to dive into the cold ocean could be the answer to Dia's caution that they need to write their own songs.



Kind of an enigmatic smile here from Riko right before she refuses to be a school idol with Chika.



The first episode saw the usual insert song, with Chika assuming Riko had already joined them.
