10 Second Anime - Kuma Miko - Episode 4

Hibiki, Yoshio's childhood friend, takes Machi clothes shopping on her motorcycle.

Episode 4 - "Village Treasure"

Heh.

The old-timers of the village are still arguing over Machi's little fashion show, but the meat of the episode is Machi spending time with the final character featured in the opening and closing credit sequences. Hibiki, the rough talking, delinquent looking young lady takes Machi on a shopping trip and perhaps reawakened Machi's powers of a medium. Eh, I don't know about that last part...

The main concern for Machi's family and friends is how much she relies on Natsu to accomplish normal tasks but asking her for self-reliance might be too much at this stage. So, how about just asking other people to help?

I'm pretty sure Yoshio wants Machi to do more public dancing so he can capitalize on his miko idol project. Sneaky schemer.

Machi doesn't want to do public stuff without Natsu because she wants to make sure he does his share of the mountain god appeasing work. So petty.

Yoshio's pretty sneaky in other ways. I'm sure he asked his friend Hibiki to take Machi shopping because Machi had complained about going out with dudes who kept making old-man comments. Problem: Hibiki looks like this.

Machi only knows how to fight against bears! Interestingly enough, her tactics of playing dead and running away are what you're supposed to do for Brown Bears. For the smaller Black Bears, you're supposed to make a lot of noise and make yourself look bigger.

I doubt Machi has had to fight Natsu like that, considering their cartoon violence fight.

Besides, does this look like a scary bear to you?

Natsu using a tablet fit in perfectly with his keyless entry fob for the treasure house. These kids today and their new-fangled ideas. Bear can't hold a key? Make him push a button! Machi's laziness seems to fit right in with the older generation.

The younger generation is also much more familiar with Natsu. I noticed how the old folks carrying him around for a ritual were much more deferential than Yoshio and Hibiki.

Well, Hibiki isn't deferential to pretty much anybody.

I'm also pretty sure Yoshio is the source of Hibiki's windfall of money. Buying Machi new clothes probably fell under the city council's budget, but maybe Hibiki is trying to pocket the change by going to a chain clothing store.

Hibiki don't truck with no smirking!

Machi channeled the spirit of the clothing store! I seriously doubt she read up on the business plan of the Shimomura corporation and its goods distribution model.

Maybe Machi's channeling powers will be reawakened because she's doing new stuff?

Her power was good enough to get Hibiki that sales item in her size.

I got a kick out of the motorcycle traveling music. It sounded like an homage to an 80's Rock love ballad.

Will Machi's new powers make her into a Shimomura Shopping Master? To Be Continued!
