The little sisters take center stage with Chizuru trying to make friends and Mari and Kaede going on a big girl errand.
Episode 9 - "This is a Story of a Little Love and Courage"

The prologue set the stage for the rest of the vignettes - sisters. Being an older one, a younger one, having them too. Yui and Ayano tried to play younger and older sisters, but that was a bit too embarrassing for them.
We got confirmation that Chizuru is the younger of the twins, and when she and Chitose were little kids, the roles of younger and older sister really asserted themselves. Chizuru was so precious! Now look at her...
Well, at least she knows she needs to change. Using the promise she made to little Kaede-chan, she was desperate enough to ask Kyoko for advice on making friends.
Setting their "friendship" aside, the advice Kyoko gave Chizuru was "attack." Kyoko even made it pretty clear that you had to "attack" with your personality, but Chizuru didn't get it. She still made some new friends by "attacking" a gym class activity with her perseverance.
The set piece for the whole episode was Mari and Kaede's big adventure in running an errand by themselves. Kaede, Himawari's little sister, is a very perceptive child. Mari, Yui's little cousin, appears to be much more average but shows a core resoluteness. Dealing with a scary shiba inu and a scraped knee is a big deal for preschool age girls!
The best part of that whole scene was the revelation that Himawari and Sakurako were following Kaede in the same way that Yui and Kyoko were tailing Mari. It was obviously Sakurako's idea, but the level of sophistication in their disguises showed who the master and student were.
Ha! If a bush-headed girl rushes you in the street, counter with pervert flashing trench coat!
With a Chizuru heavy episode, we needed the reminder that she and Chitose definitely are twins. Where Chitose nosebleeds over fantasizing over yuri Ayano and Kyoko, Chizuru drools over fantasizing about Ayano and Chitsose.
Nice! Akari and Chinatsu were nowhere in the episode, but they got a brief scene complaining about it in the epilogue. That's two episodes in a row where the main characters had barely any screen time, and this week was even less than last episode.
I really want to see a scene where Chizuru and/or Chitose discover that Kaede is Himawari's little sister. Right now, she's just this cute little girl they see around the neighborhood.
Hopefully Akari and Chinatsu make it into the next episode. I'm getting low on Akari hair bun gags.
