10 Second Anime - Owarimonogatari - Episode 6

Ougi and Hanekawa walk Arargi through the solution of Sodachi's missing mother. Sodachi oh so neatly exits the story, or will it be so cleanly?

"Sodachi Lost"

Hmm.

I don't like these non-magical resolutions to these stories so far. The reason for the lack of aberrations appears to be Ougi's influence on the circumstances. From what we saw earlier with Ougi and Mayoi the not-so-lost ghost and Nadeko the Snake God, her overall goal looks like it is to separate Araragi from the monster girls. Senjougahara the girlfriend appears no longer to be a problem, but Ougi definitely still has a problem with Hanekawa.

I also don't like how neatly and quickly these mysteries are being "solved." Supposedly in a modern day Japan, a house being cleaned up for sale will have garbage collected, human bones and all, without being inspected properly. This being a Bakemonogatari story, I was prepared for a supernatural explanation, but so far, the only thing supernatural about this season was Ougi trapping Araragi in a classroom to jar his memory and give him a warning about getting involved with girls from his lost or fuzzy memories. The potential for Sodachi to join Araragi's monster girl harem has been defused, for now. Then again, after the classroom in the first episode was "exorcised," Sodachi showed up the next day. Anything can happen in this kind of story.

Heh.

Ougi respects Hanekawa as a formidable foe, but even worse, she's much more "developed" than her current form is.

That oppai power is going to be difficult thing to get around if Ougi is ever going to separate Hanekawa from Araragi.

Ougi is going to need to find another way to emulate Hanekawa than just trying to take her boobs away from her.

And then we saw the awesome Black Cat hair!

Does hair dye not work on those white strands?

Ougi gave Hanekawa 10 seconds to solve the locked room mystery, but she really did it in only 3 seconds. The answer was that Sodachi's mom never escaped and her remains were thrown out with the rest of the garbage when the house was sold.

It's always a good thing to see the Fire Sisters give their older brother a hard time.

It's kind of weird that they don't remember Sodachi staying at their house either. The siblings' parents remembered and so did Nadeko, but the Araragi kids did not.

I got a "mm hmm" moment when I saw Ougi riding that bike "looking for a lost child." She could have been referring to Mayoi, who was chased down relentlessly by a dark nameless void. Or Ougi may have been referring to Nadeko and she was about to tell her all about the Polar Snake talisman Araragi kept in his room.

During the epilogue we finally got an explanation of what Hanekawa's trip was about and why she was missing when Araragi needed her most. Traveling the world for a month. It seemed longer back when he was dealing with Mayoi and Nadeko. It also made me remember why Hanekawa didn't want Kaiki to tell him that she was in town. I still wonder if she wasn't really looking for Oshino to ask him about his "niece." Hopefully we get some of those kind of messy answers this season, instead of the neat ones we've been getting so far.
