Filler Shippuuden continues with Tsunade's dream of reading a new story by Jiraiya about Naruto.

Episode 433 - "The Jiraiya Ninja Scrolls: Naruto the Hero - The Search Mission"

Just to clarify, Tsunade's dream world is reading Jiraiya's new manuscript about Naruto. The manuscript world differs in major respects from the one we're familiar with Minato still alive and the Hokage as he and Kushina raised Naruto together.

 

You would think that with how similar Naruto's personality is to the original, he would have been bothering his dad incessantly for all sorts of info on his ninjutsu. Sasuke should not be the one to explain how the Yellow Flash of Konoha actually got his name.

 

Other than that, Naruto is still an idiot wanting to do hard missions he's not qualified for.

Yeah, that's right, Naruto. You were chosen for this mission because you're elite. No, not bait. Well, yeah, bait.

Leave it to Neji's team to actually see their team captain Guy get captured. All the other younger teams only noticed them missing after the fact.

Rock Lee is still the same with how much he cares for Guy.

Uh, maybe too much.

 

I'm not sure what's up with the Akatsuki robes. Hidan the immortal guy has clouds on his black robes, like we've seen him before, but the three original Akatsuki from the Hidden Rain Village, Yahiko, Nagato and Konan, are younger, have no clouds on their robes, and Yahiko is still alive.

 

I wonder if Konan made that paper animal a toad because they were taught by Jiraiya.

 

It looks like this story by Jiraiya is going to take a while. Tsunade herself had been reading the thing by the lake all the way from daytime to nighttime. We've got at least one more episode of this. I'm already getting impatient for the next dream world victim.
