10 Second Anime - Naruto Shippuuden - Episode 426

Ninjas and civilians get caught in the Infinite Dream. Yamato demonstrates what this genjutsu looks like to him.

Episode 426 - "Infinite Tsukuyomi"

Heh.

I've been translating 無限月読 (mugen tsukuyomi) as Infinite Dream for a while now, but that's its function. All these sharingan jutsu names are based on Shinto gods. The gods of creation are Izanami and Izanagi. Their children were Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and Susanoo. Amaterasu is the Sun Goddess, Tsukuyomi is the Moon God and Susanoo is the Storm God. So, calling the moon by the Moon God's name is just a little poetic, but it fits with all this sharingan stuff.

So that's where Yamato has been all this time. We knew he got caught all the way back when Naruto was on that island with Killer B learning to tame the 9-tail's chakra. But after Kabuto used him to make better white Zetsus, the Tobi Zetzu had been using him to augment the Senjuu attacks.

So unfair! Yamato wakes up for a few seconds and then he was captured by the genjutsu.

All that filler last year with Kakashi and Tenzo (Yamato) was supposed to give us an emotional payoff during his disjointed dream. It kind of worked, especially seeing that pink smoke girl again.

Yeah. Naruto figured out how to deal with all those meteorites. I guess Sasuke was necessary because he could block the light of the moon with his rinnegan powered Susanoo.

It was very important to show the Kage oneesans get wrapped up. For REASONS and PLOT.

The reanimated Hokages were immune to the moonlight. That's a key detail to note.

Minato teleported himself and Madara's sage balls all the way back to his statue in Konoha. I didn't know he put a mark there. Maybe he did that all the way back in Episode 370.

Are we going into a bunch of filler with these dream worlds to finish off the Summer season and begin the final battle and conclusion with the real villain? The real villain, who's that? Oh, that crazy lady in ghost form looks like a good candidate.
