Adam Hansen on Lotto-Soudal seeks to tie a record 12 Grand Tour finishes in a row. He had thought he owned the record outright when he finished the Giro in May, completing 11 in a row, taking the record away from Marino Lejarreta set in the 1990's, but it turned out another Spaniard had done 12 in a row in the 1950's, Bernardo Ruiz.
There was a catch, though: The Vuelta á España at that time was only 2 weeks long. To be safe, Hansen needs to complete the Tour and this year's Vuelta to forestall any controversy. That looked pretty shaky earlier in the Tour when he dislocated his shoulder, but he only has two more stages to go in July before hopefully being selected for the Vuelta team.
