Yes, both Tachibana and Matsuoka have terrible naming senses.

 

Oh, right. Tachibana still sucks. She can't shoot and she keeps getting shot early in the matches. She may have hunting instincts, but she doesn't know teamwork or tactics yet.

 

Tachibana is her school's president, so she's used to deciding things by committee and deliberation. Small unit warfare doesn't work under those conditions.

 

Matsuoka was smart enough to realize that Tachibana wasn't going to trust his instructions. Maybe she'll listen to a girl instead.
