Valentine's Day means chocolate hijinks for Raku's groupies.
Heh.
Valentine's Day is just another vehicle to show off the girls' personalities in funny ways, how Raku bounces off of them and maybe just a bit of plot development.
The only real development I saw was Chitoge and Onodera talking about supporting each other with their crushes. Onodera knows Chitoge and Raku have a fake relationship, so she doesn't know for sure who Chitoge likes or who Raku likes. Chitoge doesn't know that Onodera likes Raku. So now they're rooting for each other to make progress with Raku. Melodrama!
Raku had never gotten chocolate from a girl before in his life. First time for even obligatory chocolate came from Tsugumi. She landed the first blow!
Maria went overboard as usual. The best part of her David Raku chocolate sculpture was the overpowered moving pedestal.
Shuu really should have gotten more punishment from Tsugumi for fooling her into thinking that Valentine's Day in Japan means giving chocolate to someone you hate. Tsugumi had no hesitation in giving chocolate she just received to Shuu. Poor girl who gave "The Prince" that nice chocolate, though.
How do girls keep mixing up the sugar and the salt? Such a terrible cliché in anime.
Even though Chitoge can't help being mean to Raku to hide her feelings, the reaction faces are well worth it for the audience. Tsugumi also handles that mean lying, but she's much more hysterical and violent about it.
I don't talk much about Marika, mainly because someone who's honest about her feelings in anime is kind of boring. Adding in all her overdoing helps a bit, but her best quality is being sly and pranking the other girls. We didn't get any of that this episode.
Onodera is just a normal girl, and she hadn't ever had the courage to give her chocolate to Raku until now. She had Chitoge to thank for that extra bit of courage. No more tears for the chocolate-less Raku.
Chitoge! Chitoge! Chitoge!
It looks like Onodera got a nice look at Chitoge's great legs there.
Tsugumi! Tsugumi! Tsugumi!
Tsugumi, contrary to her tomboy nature, always has the most feminine face when she starts being honest about her attraction to Raku. Look at those eyes! Look at those lips! Hnng!
Are they going to show Raku's White Day adventure? He's a great cook, so I'm sure he won't be making terrible chocolate for the ones who gave him chocolate. Onodera deserves something special for how happy she was that she was able to make sweet chocolate twice in one day. Will beating the odds use up her luck in pursuing love?
