In a Marika featured episode, Marika tries to get closer to Raku through her bad grades and having him take care of her parrot.
Heh.
Another pair of character study mini episodes this week and it's Marika's turn.
In case we needed reminding, she is super obsessed with Raku. She turned her bad grades into an opportunity for Raku to tutor her in math. Raku is only in the top 3rd of the class, so obviously Marika was hoping for more than just lessons in math. Chitoge, much to Raku's relief, tagged along.
Along the way, Marika recalled how Raku used to tell her about all his adventures with the other girls while she was bedridden and that she barely transferred to their school by pulling an all-nighter.
Of course, she decided to blow her math test just so Raku would have to tutor her again.
The second half featured Marika's parrot, Raku-sama. Everything about the parrot showed the depth of her fixation on Raku.
The escalating frenzy of comedy after Raku-sama escaped brought in the other girls and provoked their jealousy.
Onodera was the calmest of the other three, but she still freaked out in her own way.
Tsugumi and Chitoge provided the physical humor.
Raku couldn't believe the stuff he had to say to feed and care for this bird.
Chitoge demonstrated her gorilla strength.
The kicker was what he had to yell to make the parrot come back. "Marika, my sweet honey, I love you!"
Yes, in English. Marika was actually riding around and managed to record Raku shouting those embarrassing words, as if this was all according to plan, but how did the parrot escape? I don't mind the absurdist comedy, but there still needs to be some logical consistency.
Much like the first episode, not much plot going on, but lots of gags and character reinforcement.
