Absolute Duo - Episode 1
In a school for magical weapon users, a boy who manifests a shield is paired with a girl. Absolute Duo is a sexy action comedy with harem antics. Season premiere.
First Thoughts.
Meh. This is your cliché riddled harem action comedy. The voice of the main character is even the same guy who did Trinity Seven. That's not to say the show will be bad, but when I saw copy-pasted scenes from the first episode inserted into the opening credits, it lowered my expectations for how the rest of the season will play out. One thing good about the "twist" for our main character, where he's given a shield instead of some edged weapon, is that he still had some offensive capability in martial arts. He's not totally useless. I also saw the show paid very close attention to shoes, legs and boobs. Yes, shoes. Some of the same staff who worked on A Certain Scientific Railgun and Strike the Blood are working on this show, so the fanservice will be top quality, as long as the animation stays consistent. But otherwise, meh.
Meh.
A main character with a troubled past, idiosyncratic fighting abilities, having to room with a girl? I haven't seen such a story... for at least two weeks. At least he has a cool name in Thor, which the loli kuudere appreciates because she's from Scandinavia.
Heh.
Okay, I liked the ongoing joke about Julie staring at Thor.
Hopefully we keep getting jokes like that.
Usagimimi meido sensei. Rabbit-ear Maid Teacher.
Hokay... Usa-sensei is quite the live wire. And she wears sensible shoes.
I told you this show cared about shoes, legs, and boobs.
Usa-sensei says, "Pay attention." Yes, ma'am!
By the way, almost all the girls except Julie wear blouses which accentuate their ample bosoms. Shoes, legs, boobs. It's totally the second coming of Strike the Blood.
Usa-sensei aims to please.
