Cross Ange - Episode 11

Disturbing revelations abound between the DRAGONs, the royal families and the importance of Ange's song.

Heh.

Nice scar on Julio's face.

That's not creepy at all, calling your sex partner "Mama." Nope, not feeling the heebie jeebies.

I know I'm watching a trashy mecha show, but seeing those dragon wings on Julio's security chief made me think I had accidentally downloaded a hentai parody of this show. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Hilda takes being confined in stride. It's not bad prison food; she's on a new diet.

Stinky jokes from not bathing had me laughing throughout the episode.

Ah, so Emma is berserker class.

If only she had actually shot the dragon...

Hah! One of those girls in the control room was actually knitting. Hipster Norma...

It only took 11 episodes to explain why the Cross Ange title screen has a musical staff as a prominent feature.

I still like how not seriously the show takes itself. Having Ange complain about what's going on in the show was pretty funny, but also having the DRAGON princess, or whoever she is, complain about not showing up until the 11th episode when she's been in the opening credits all this time was funny too.

Hey Salia, you're not worthy.

Salia is still such a pure girl...

What's the deal with Jill having two names? She used to be called Alektra, now she's called Jill. An alias to hide her involvement in the attack that killed Tusk's parents?

Hmm.

Halfway through the show, and I guess we can stop hammering home that these girls are discriminated against, stuck in prison, and try to kill invading monsters until they die.

Showing that these DRAGONs take human form and manipulate mana users into opening the singularities is the plot point we needed to begin explaining what the hell is going on here. This show has one up on those other cute girls riding mecha to fight invaders. We're actually going to get an explanation.

Who you calling fake? This princess popped out of a paramail similar to the Vilkiss, and asked why a "false citizen" was singing the true "Star Song?" Where are they coming from? Why are they controlling the dragons?

I don't think it's a coincidence that Julio's security chief/dragon manipulator made him open a singularity, and it was right on top of Arzenal. It makes me think that they were trying to kill Ange the whole time, thinking that being stuck in Norma prison would do the job for them. But then she survived, started killing way more DRAGONs than previously, they tried to kill her again, but she escaped back to Arzenal.

That little mind meld the dragon princess and Ange shared looked like an illustration of past lives or alternate realities. Something meant to evoke the idea of destiny, I suppose.

Next time, "Jill" provides some answers to what happened to her right arm, the deaths of Tusk's parents, and what's up with the Vilkiss. Of course, it needs to be told while naked in a spa. This is that kind of show, after all.
