A full climbing week, including a taper day before I climbed up to Camp Williams in 105 degree heat. My legs are tired. I also don't ride that well in hot weather because I have such a high cruising heart rate, about 175 bpm, that normal blood flow does not help my core stay cool. I can generally do much harder efforts in moderate temperatures, but in high temp days, I just have to ride within myself. Of course one could argue that it's not average to be able to do hard efforts in extreme heat without dumping bottles and bottles of water over yourself and sticking a little ice at the base of your neck. Excuse me for not having a support vehicle.
