Locodol - Episode 12
The Nagarekawa Girls perform last at the Locodol Festival. They don't win, but leave early enough to make their city's own festival.
Heh.
We got a great concert performance out of this episode. The performance also served as our flashback montage as we saw all the scenes that inspired the lyrics. For a local idol unit only funded by the city government, they were pretty professional with including animated versions of themselves on the huge venue displays.
Aw. That's the only place Uogokoro-kun can do his backflip now.
Saori never did make her mecha-pilot suits for Nanako and Yukuari, but new stage outfits are nice too.
I can only imagine how long Uncle Elvis played for the crowd before the Nagarekawa Girls made it to the stage.
Concert themed screen wipes fits the episode.
And local festival themed eye catch fits our girls' dedication to their hometown.
That is A LOT of cotton candy, Nanako.
Of course, the main inspiration for Nanako's lyrics was her friendship with Yukari.
I'd like to see more of this developing "friendship." Because I like seeing cute girls do cute things... with each other! (Or to each other, I'm not picky.)
Hmm.
It was a bit jarring to see the Awa Awa girls tell the Nagarekawa Girls they could leave the stage. We know it was for them to to catch their bullet train home and make their own festival, but the tone seemed a little off. It was like, "you didn't win, you don't have to be here anymore, so get out." It all got smoothed out as they left the stage, but how the Awa Awa Girls treated the other idol unit could have been interpreted as catty. Well, it did make the audience pay attention to why a locodol unit had to leave before the end of the event. One more episode to go. I'm going to miss Uogokoro-kun and Nanyako.
