Locodol - Episode 4
The Nagarekawa Girls get a manager. They discover an unofficial fan site. They perform a guerilla concert on a department store roof for new fans.
Heh.
Amid worries of stalkers, news of a new manager, and the discovery of a fan site with candid pictures, the locodols are introduced to Saori, who happens to be doing all three things at once.Yui and Yukari want Nanako to take her job more seriously. She doesn't seem like an idol. She is an idol.
How could Nanako not recognize herself in those pictures? There's modesty, and then there's obliviousness.
Saori really wanted that job as the locodol manager. At least the girls think she's way better than Nanako's uncle.
Even the little kids are beginning to recognize the Nagarekawa Girls, but their memories are a bit selective. They know them as girls who sang at the pool, and one of them took off their clothes in a parking lot. That's not wrong...
Suit up.
I have a lot of pictures to talk about.
No new screen wipe pictures?
The eye catch is still episode themed.
Saori made a joke about plugging the Tanuki Bakery to calm Nanako down after a dog made her fall in the river. So of course we have to go to a bakery selling Uogokoro-kun pastries. Eat his head off first! But will there be a gooey Yui center?
Saori remembers she needs to pace herself.
She'll ease the girls into those cute outfits, but they'll have to be work-related. She'll think up a good excuse.
Funky bunny.
I wonder if all those kids will start dancing like that at the concerts from now on. Yui sure does have a lot of jobs where she's all covered up. I guess she's still trying to get over her stage fright. Also, this bunny costume must not be flip-proof. How traumatic would it be for these young children to see Usagi-kun's head come flying off? Good decision in sticking with the funky bunny dance.
Saori's gimmick on the fan site to reward "liked" pictures with extra candid pictures is great click-bait. Thankfully, Nanyako offers lots of material.
I wonder how long the girls have been waiting to do the business card introduction ritual.
Yui has the best card.
Saori is well practiced.
She may be a stalker and an obsessed cosplay fan, but she appears to be good at her job.
Nanako may be getting better at her own job, but she needs to take pride in it and have confidence in her looks. Yukari's brainwashing is effective.
See? Even just doing the Nagarekawa Girls introduction move makes their new fans enthralled.
At least I think that's what's going on here.
Yukari and Nanako had just about the most adorable meeting ever. Conducting it on walking animatronic rides? Squee!
Geh.
Mecha pilot cosplay?Saori-kun, make this happen!
Hmm.
The cute girls doing cute things story is hitting its stride. The characters are established enough, along with the flavor of comedy, that we just need to throw the girls into any kind of situation to see how they'll react, and laugh at the gags along the way. There's definitely a lot of material to reference in pop culture for how the Japanese treat their idols, so we can even get some meta commentary. All I ask for is new wipes. Otherwise each week is a nice visit with the Nagarekawa Girls.
