Akame ga Kill! - Episode 6
Night Raid conducts another mission, Sheele and Mine get caught up by Seryu Ubiquitous. Sheele dies as she ensures Mine's escape.
Geh.
I didn't want to believe it. When Sheele got shot in the back, I thought she still had a chance. But then Coro bit her in half, and all I could think was "no, no, no, no, no..." Why didn't she just kill that Seryu girl when she had the chance? But she made the choices that fit her personality, including going back to Coro to save Mine's life, and using her Emperor Tool's trump card to allow Mine to escape. Sheele, rest in peace.Heh.
Every magical girl transformation needs a cheering section.Tatsumi is impressed with how cool the transformation looks. I'm impressed by... other things.
Is big sister Leone developing a soft spot for Tatsumi?
She tries to play the sign of affection off with a joke, but that blush shows there's something more.
I am so glad Sheele had a pure heart. The moments she chose to remember as her life flashed before her eyes were happy ones.
Big cake for getting her Emperor Tool, complete with chocolate scissors! Twin-tail Sheele was all sorts of alright. And when she said goodbye to Tatsumi, my heart ached. I hope the flag that Leone tripped with Tatsumi is a love flag, instead of a death flag, and they can comfort each other.
That Seryu Ubiquitous is insane. That's the darkness she was hiding. But Ogre added the body modification with the hidden guns. Some sense of justice she's got there, shooting someone in the back with a hold-out gun. Cowardly.
I'd like to remember Sheele as the kind, clumsy girl who transformed into a blade dancer when she held murderous intent.
Hmm.
This show's characters warned us that anyone could die at any time. And this show is very good at showing the consequences of deadly action. Many times in anime, we're given clues not to get too attached to characters who will become death fodder. Not here. This show wants you to care about its main characters, and then show you how very cruel this world of Akame ga Kill! really is.We won't even get the satisfaction of dealing with Seryu Ubiquitous quickly, since the next main bad guy has already made her way to the capital. Again, showing the cruelty of life in this show, where feelings of revenge will have to fester while more immediate problems are dealt with.
We'll see how strong and what kind of development Tatsumi has had with Night Raid so far, as he deals with Sheele's death. After accepting his best friends' deaths, part of that coping was tied into a small growing hope of some kind of happiness with Sheele, but that little spark of joy was snuffed out so quickly. Show us what you're made of, Tatsumi. Show us that you can rekindle that spark of hope again.
