Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Episode 14

The rookie girls continue their domination under the guidance of Tatsuya Coachie. The Headless Dragon makes their move too. BAMF break is over.

Heh.

The Crimson Prince and Cardinal George make their formal introduction to the engineer who's giving them fits, and it's someone they've never heard of. But Tatsuya has heard of them. Advantage: BAMF.

I liked Tatsuya's little smirk as he recalled those two guys' history and abilities. A child soldier and a renowned prodigy scientist teamed up. His satisfied half-smile lets it be clear that there's only one of him and he's better than both of them in their fields. BAMF's gotta BAMF.

That Masaki guy better watch out, making eyes at Tatsuya's sister. I guess the introductions between those two will be delayed for a more impactful encounter.

Shizuku lost badly to Miyuki in that Pillars Break contest, even pulling out two CAD's, but she can be proud that she actually broke one against Miyuki.

It was also Tatsuya versus Tatsuya in the calibration department. That shows how strong Miyuki is if the best strategy and spells Tatsuya could come up with only got one pillar broken against his sister.

Honoka hugged those curves thanks to illusion magic.

Any excuse to show Honoka's curves... Tatsuya was playing chess while all the other players were playing checkers. All those girls started wearing dark glasses after the bright spell strategy Honoka used before, but then she used those dark glasses with an illusion spell to make them think the walls of the course were closer than they were, so she could take the better line. Sneaky. Tatsuya plays to win.

Spawn point camping is a legitimate strategy! At least that's what those Hong Kong gangsters keep telling themselves. They cut some corners to make sure the 1st Magic School lost, and that made it too obvious that someone outside the game had their location beforehand. Now we know why it was a big deal for them to have access to the school CAD's: to put in their own spells, legitimate or not, so they can remotely activate what, when, and where they want.

Sucks to be Morisaki. He wanted to prove something so bad, and the building falls on him right at the start of the match.

In a show about magic, we finally got our reference to magical girls.

Tatsuya Coachie gives last minute instructions to his magical fairies... When I saw Miyuki in her Mirage Bat costume when this whole arc began, I thought the event was going to be some kind of ice skating. But magical wands used to smack colored balls in a physical version of Twister meets Simon? I am disappoint: no mahou shoujou transformation scenes.

Fine. At least we got fairy girls smacking balls with ornate sticks...

Did that sound dirty to you? Good. I meant to do that.

Uh oh. Did Azusa finally start getting all the hints that Tatsuya might be Taurus Silver?

Masuka masuka masuka! Maybe Tatsuya shouldn't have trolled so hard with the thing about Taurus Silver being a high school student. Although it's not unheard of since you got that Cardinal George guy at 3rd Magic School.

When Jumonji convinced Tatsuya to take on the Monolith Code event, you could see in his eyes he had flipped his switch. Time to get his BAMF on. Like there's still something in him that wants to win in the most ruthless and demoralizing manner. Yeah! Bring it!

Hmm.

As I thought, Mikihiko is going to get dragged into this competition, and Leon is going to end up using Tatsuya's new toy somehow. Plus, he gets to show his solo BAMF skills against the BAMF duo from the other school.

I liked how Tatsuya tried every argument, including the whole Bloom vs. Weed thing to try to get out of the match. And then when he got into "Just win, baby" mode, he chose two more Weeds. I believe Ancient Magic is not really recognized as "real" magic, so their opponents will be in for a surprise with Mikihiko. But how are Tatsuya and Leon going to use their abilities when full-contact martial arts aren't supposed to be used? I'm curious to see how our BAMF is going to turn Mikihiko and Leon into BAMF #2 and BAMF #3.

The girls had their turns with Tatsuya behind the scenes, but next time, BAMF is gonna BAMF.
