The Admiral reorganizes the fleet, but the members of the new Mobile Unit 5 wonder how effective they can be. This impossible squadron chooses an impossible flagship.

The torpedo girls have to change roommates, but they'll always be torpedo girls at heart. Yay, Torpedo Girls!

 

Akagi is still a big eater. She finished her huge dessert while Fubuki wasn't even halfway done.

 

Oh man, after seeing the weirdo lesbo girls and the mean girl passive aggressive fighting, I would have been shedding tears of relief too with a big huge glomp from Kongou.

 

Kongou's Japanese English-Japanese accent is still annoying to my ears. At least she's cute and genki. Maybe we'll have to start up a "shit!" counter for her.

 

These ship girls do spend an awful lot of time in the dock for repairs. I'm not complaining since the "dock" is the spa.

 

With Fubuki in another fleet, the "poi" count from Yuudachi is going to go way down per episode. If you've been playing the "poi" drinking game at home, your liver does the dance of joy.

 

Fubuki was so hopeful she would be assigned to Akagi's fleet.



So close. She got Kaga instead. At least she makes cute towel bunnies.

 

I'm surprised Kaga's tactical sense is so poor. She's an aircraft carrier with supposedly a larger perspective of the battle area. Maybe Shoukaku was right in referring to her as a mere "escort ship."

 

Shoukaku and Zuikaku seem close.

 



Ooh snap! Ooi called Zuikaku "flight-deck chest." Pettankos can be so sensitive...

 

Just how tough were these wargames the girls kept doing? They ended up in the spa a lot.

 

Zuikaku got a transformation scene.

 



I guess we got the other girls' transformation scenes already... The production crew has to save time and money for the big battle scenes near the end of the season, after all.

 

 

Hmm.

It's kind of weird that they made the newbie the flagship if she's just applying classroom stuff to tactical situations. I guess that makes Fubuki officer material and the other girls are good enough for noncommissioned officer. Still, they had more battle experience than Fubuki, so I guess it was just a clash of personalities affecting their orders and the chain of command.

 

I figure this strange fleet of two carriers, a fast battleship, two torpedo light cruisers and a fast destroyer is supposed to be the navy's wildcard. We'll have to see how Nagato puts them to use now that they've figured out their strengths. Making cute towel bunnies is a strength, right?
