Episode 9 — “Ancient City Insurrection Part I”
Hmm.
Oh, boy. Here we go again. Mahouka uses the cover story of a Magic
Thesis Competition in Kyoto to move Tatsuya’s Scooby Gang over there.
Thank goodness Mizuki’s oppai magic will be here to entertain us.
Heh.
Ha! Tatsuya lays some Mahouka lore on Miyuki: Aunt Maya’s requests
are number three on the totem pole for Tatsuya! His primary priority is
protecting Miyuki, and his second mission is anything coming from the
Independent Magic-Equipped Battalion. Battalion of one walking neutron
bomb, it means. The Yotsuba Clans Chief’s orders are merely requests.
Oh, right. Miyuki received the most votes for Student Council Chair, while
Tatsuya came in third. He was a write-in candidate! Let’s see if the magic
students drag him in again. Tatsuya’s little asides about Mahouka’s
characters always mean something for the current story arc. Kyouko
Fujibayashi, his handler, is also the Kudou patriarch’s granddaughter. And
she’s a super hacker because her nickname is the Electron Sorceress. Oops.
Miyuki hates the idea that Tatsuya has Kyouko’s private number.
Time-lapse. Students reelected Miyuki, and our favorite characters joined
the Student Council. Yes. It’s Tatsuya’s harem. Haha! Nepotism, baby!
Miyuki created a new role for Tatsuya — Chief Secretary. Mahouka’s
idea makes sense: Traditionalists are a rebel faction of the Ancient
Magicians. Therefore, Mikihiko will have more screen time. This story arc
will reveal the political machinations between the Ten Magic Families.
Maya thinks it’s cute how Tatsuya takes his first steps into trading
favors.
Here we go. Tatsuya’s BAMF mode starts now. The Traditionalists use Synthetic
Spirits to attack students. But who was the target? The Shibas! However, the
Traditionalists thought they were assaulting other Ancient Magicians. Ah.
Random magicians became caught in the crossfire of targeting the Kurobas. Yup.
People dragged Tatsuya into more trouble again. Classic Mahouka. Master
Yakumo wants to flex his skills against the self-named Traditionalists. Well,
he needs to practice his Buddhism a bit more. But Mikihiko can watch over
Mizuki. Flirty times ahead!
