Onoda foreshadows something later in the episode: he finds a bump in a puddle and barely recovers. Imaizumi recalculated his dream goal after Naruko dropped back. Aim for Sohoku to finish 1-2 instead of the Big Three. There it is. THE NATIONAL CHAMPION OF JAPAN does crazy things to win, like riding a gutter lip last year and drifting on a slick road this year.

Imaizumi and Midousuji believe the bottom of the hill before the next climb will decide who wins. But there's a puddle that packs a punch in the middle of the road.
