They were functionally the same weight-wise, shape, and power transfer, but they were black anodized aluminum. Eleven years later, the top-end Shimano components of Dura-Ace and Ultegra are still black. Even the prosumer mid-tier of Shimano 105 is black. Yuuto thinks he can handle Midousuji and Komari with the last bit of strength in his legs, so Kuroda should join the fight with Manami against Sohoku.

Here comes another cycling death scene. Yuuto is out of energy bars and water. Midousuji tries his usual Iago counseling trick to demoralize him. Yuuto will burn out the rest of his team spirit before letting Midousuji pass him. Komari doesn't want exhausted "flesh." He's after that fresh and sparkly Manami meat. What a freak! Does Yuuto let Komari past him? Of course not. Poor Midousuji. He can't control Komari's lust for "flesh." Yuuto's aged muscle intrigues him so. Komari can't stop himself from talking about muscle control. He wants to know what muscle groups Yuuto uses now to turn his pedals because his exhausted regular muscles can't do it. No touching in the workplace!

Midousuji takes advantage of Komari's distraction. Up ahead, Kuroda and Manami try to catch Onoda and Imaizumi. Yowamushi Pedal builds up Manami's chances against THE NATIONAL CHAMPION OF JAPAN. The Hakone climber worked hard to improve what he lacked against Onoda. The race is already over unless he already learned how to sing the "Hime, Hime" song. Naruko will do what he can against two climbers, but Manami is beyond his level. The most he can do is neutralize Kuroda, but he'll still make Manami burn extra energy.
