BREAK.06 — "Doubashi Masakiyo's Inter-High"
Cycling Porn.
Yowamushi Pedal continues to favor Dura-Ace brake hoods and shifters over Campagnolo. We'll see more of Manami's Look and Yuuto's Cervelo as the race climbs to the highest point between Gunma and Nagano. There are more sparking gear changes for fans and detractors. If you can't tell, I'm a detractor. Will Teshima's Cannondale and Naruko's Pinarello make it to the hot springs town? I doubt it.
Heh.
What? Doubashi can keep pedaling after losing consciousness. Izumida can't stop him. Flashback for Hakone. Oh! Doubashi and Manami joined the cycling team at the same time. Aw. The pair has good timing but in the wrong way. They start talking over each other right on cue. That's good teamwork! Doubashi wants to hear Manami's account of last year's inter-high race, but the climber only remembers how fun it was. Oh? I forgot Manami can talk like a philosopher. He told Doubashi he would experience strange coincidences that feel like fate. Welcome to shounen storytelling. Doubashi understands what Manami meant now.
Yeah! Arakita is in Doubashi's flashback. He tells Doubashi he shouts too much! Arakita is as helpful as Manami about the inter-high race. He needs to experience it to understand it. Doubashi gets what Arakita meant back then too. Kaburagi caught up to Hakone and remembered Sohoku's motto: Sohoku always gets things done in the nick of time. That's how Onoda became THE NATIONAL CHAMPION OF JAPAN. Manami asked Doubashi if he understood what he meant about the inter-high race back then. Kaburagi and Doubashi share a shounen moment.
In the climbing phase, Onoda pulls first! But Yuuto Shinkai attacks next! Onoda and Imaizumi's counterattack is instant and dangerous. Unfortunately, it's four against five for Sohoku and Hakone. Did Izumida improve his climbing ability as Naruko did? Abs-guy claims this little hill is easy for him. Hakone is in a mountainous area, so that's believable. Andy and Frank enjoy the mountain view! He can let his pecs do that because Kuroda is the road captain now.
Oh yeah. Remember Midousuji. Gross tongue action! Mizuta thinks Midousuji's plans have gone to crap. Have they? Have they now? Anyone would have had Midousuji's reaction. Shut up! Midousuji claims "keikakudoori." Let Hakone and Sohoku beat each other up. Kyoto Fushimi will win in the aftermath. And Komari has his motivation: Onoda's muscles!
Next time, somebody sees his final road. Who?
