The last thing I expected from Drakken Joe in his final battle with Shiki was for him to turn into a tentacle monster.

Oh, hey! It's Mother! Weisz's mother reminded us of the sole reason Shiki left his robot planet at the start of this story.

Rebecca and Homura found themselves in a tentacle grape situation after Drakken Joe's body ran amok. His need to steal "life force" turned his body into an octopus-style monster when Hermit shut down his life-sucking machine. The villain was a test subject that would die after he turned fifteen, so he has been sustaining his body through technology ever since. Purple tentacles are not related to his Alchemy Ether Gear. But they gave us a fun excuse to see Rebecca and Homura in "cultured" scenes of distress. Even the Shining Stars of Edens Zero the tentacle situations by directly plugging into the ship's energy reserves to power the main cannon.
