Jirou and Akari have been getting along better since they made up last week. Jirou even hung out with Shiori each morning for homeroom duty. The childhood friends are still too awkward with each other to have a conversation.
Akari started feeling awkward around Jirou too. She asked him to call her by her first name like he calls Shiori. A married couple, practicing or not, should not be referring to each other by their different last names. The pure and innocent Akari couldn't handle that level of intimacy yet.
The high school faculty know when the kids in the mock marriage program start getting distracted by puberty. That's when they spring a pop midterm exam that combines a couple's scores to qualify for passing! Akari isn't the studious type. When she wants to take breaks, she distracts Jirou the best way she knows how. Flirtatious skinship! She couldn't handle it when Jirou turned the tables on her. Jirou couldn't either! Akari worries that she might have feelings for him and wouldn't be happy switching to Minami. Feelings of attraction are confusing!
