The world of Fuufu Ijou makes boys and girls live together as newlyweds in a specialized dorm before they graduate. The pairings are random, so girls who have a crush, like Akari and Shiori, pray they cohabitate with their preferred partners. Akari is a popular gyaru who likes the school ace Minami. Shiori is Jirou's childhood friend, but the couple has never declared their feelings for each other. More than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is a romantic comedy, so naturally, things don't work out for the star-crossed pairs.
Akari did not receive her wish, and neither did Jirou! But Akari has a plan that exploits a loophole in the rules of the mock marriage program. If partners get high scores of couplehood, they can switch partners with another high-scoring pair. Because Shiori and Minami were paired together! The confident gyaru will need to teach the shy virgin how to treat a girl! Then they can live with their beloveds after a month of newlywed grinding.
Because of the awkwardness and shouting when they first started living together, Akari and Jirou were already in the negative. But sitting next to each other helped. And Akari insisted her "husband" kiss her goodbye at the door. Jirou kissed her on the lips! That was too much for Akari's knees. She expected a peck on the cheek. The digital scoreboard in the room liked what it saw, though. A proper kiss is worth two points!
Living with a flashy gal means lots of flashes of bras and panties! Akari falls into the perfect girlfriend underneath the gyaru exterior genre. She's a good cook and knows how to flirt about it. Jirou is your average boy who means no harm but is horny nonetheless. He fantasizes about the pure Shiori and sexy Akari. Unfortunately, for his devotion to Shiori, Akari gives Jirou plenty of fap material.
In the stylized animation of the end credits, Akari appears as a cat-like creature wearing a virgin-killer sweater dress. Cute!
