Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita S2 - Episode 2 - 10 Second Anime

Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita S2 - Episode 2
Shinya can’t stand that Chris and Suiu are a happier couple than he and Ayame. He needs a scientific explanation!

Proof 2 – “Science-types Fell in Love, So They Tried Looking for a New Theory.”

Hmm.

Shinya Yukimura is petty. Oh, Science Fell in Love tries to paint him more in a proud and stubborn light, but he keeps grudges. Someone beat his trivial numbers on a printout, so he needs to beat them back! His pettiness drove him to find a theory to fit his facts.

Shinya’s effort to bolster his faith that he is in love with Ayame shows the messy side of science. Science Fell in Love incorporates the scientific method into its sitcom style. First, collect evidence. Second, hypothesize to explain that evidence and predict future results. Third, gather more evidence. Lather, rinse, repeat. Shinya’s first theory, oxytocin levels correlate to love, didn’t work out, so he needed a new hypothesis to fit his evidence. Shinya successfully pitched to Chris and Suiu to explain his and Ayame’s poor Fusion power levels. But he needs to run more experiments to reproduce his results.

Science Fell in Love also makes a deep psychological profile on Shinya this week. Shinya’s need to prove his love for Ayame displays a tsundere’s psychological mechanics. Shinya knows he’s in love, but he can’t admit it. At the same time, he needs external circumstances to make him concede the truth. This way, the admission is out of his hands. The formulaic tsundere reaction comes from a comedic accident, but Shinya goes his own tsundere way. The fun part of Science Fell in Love is that Shinya actively creates those external conditions. He won’t need to subjectively admit anything. He couldn’t help it because science proved he was in love.

Heh.

Science Fell in Love gave us the ending theme and closing credits. I see a replay of the funny experiments the Ikeda Lab ran on each other from the first season.

Science Fell in Love keeps up with video game trends. Ena will destroy Kosuke on the “Suwitchy” console. Har. “Usachuu” fights “Princess Lychee.” How would Pikachu and Princess Peach feel about this homage? Meanwhile, Super Saiyan-tists show off their Fusions on Planet Namek... Chris and Suiu’s oxytocin levels are over 9000! Well, they’re higher than Shinya and Ayame’s. They need more data, which means testing different Fusions! Er, couples.

Hoho! Hugging the adorable Kotonoha makes Ayame ecstatic! Even more than with Shinya. Yuri route confirmed. Let Suiu join the fun too! Girls loving each other and everything else is merely natural. Give in to pleasure, ladies! Chris can’t make his oxytocin levels rise with Ayame. Science Fell in Love blocks the NTR route. What about Shinya and Suiu? Nope. Chris also blocked that NTR route. Uh oh. Ayame feels jealous. She won’t produce a high amount of oxytocin now. Ha! Shinya throws Kotonoha in Ayame’s face. Science fell in love, so they had a lovers’ quarrel. Is Ayame advocating for bisexuality or dismissing it? Harem route confirmed?

Smack! Chris doesn’t want to hear shameful, cowardly words from Shinya. Love is more complicated than happiness hormone levels. New couples’ passions make them angry, horny, and sad simultaneously. Can Shinya find a theory to prove that? Science Fell in Love makes sure he can!

According to a Kinsey Institute researcher, a couple’s new romance produces different concentrations of neurotransmitters and hormones than established couples do. Wild mood swings often happen in the romance phase. Dopamine and adrenaline overwhelm a lovestruck person’s emotions. Eh. Rikekuma pads out the episode time with a digression on using different words for the same chemical. Norepinephrine IS adrenaline. Science Fell in Love made a teddy bear with glasses anti-American!

Yes, early romance feels like an addiction. I am also in a stable relationship with beer these days... Please, Science Fell in Love , no kneeing beer cans. Ayame is in a stage of Yukimura dependence. Chris and Suiu are in the peaceful attachment phase of their relationship. But Suiu still has the power to spike Chris’s adrenaline production! Shinya found a new theory of romance and attachment, so it’s time for more experiments with saliva! That works out fine for Shinya and Ayame. Because that’s how they date and have fun together. The 50s style love ballad playing in the background proves it too!

Epilogue time. Science Fell in Love pays necessary attention to the Ena and Kosuke couple. Ayame uses gravity to write prose about attraction but balancing nuclear and magnetic forces makes a better analogy. When two particles can overcome magnetic repulsion, the “strong nuclear force” combines them. Boom, fusion! It’s still fun to analogize attraction to desire to play together and aversion to stubborn pride.

Next episode, we have naptime for science types.
