Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru - Episode 6 - 10 Second Anime

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru - Episode 6
Marin realizes she has romantic feelings for Gojou. A famous cosplayer seeks Gojou’s dressmaking skills.

Episode 6 – “For Real?!”

Hmm.

Has Marin ever been in love with a boy? That’s a key question I have for My Dress-Up Darling. We can all agree that her growing feelings for Gojou reward the socially awkward boy. I like rooting for a hardworking guy who doesn’t know how attractive he can be for hot girls. But is Marin’s attraction to Gojou like how she falls in love with anime and manga characters? I don’t see Marin wanting to cosplay as Gojou because we’ll see how she honors those fictional characters. Her personal philosophy (that certain cosplayers should play certain characters) impressed the veteran Sajuna Inui. Still, I want to see more evidence that Marin likes Gojou as a man. Marin could be fangirling for a new character she discovered.

Marin’s “wuvly” attraction to Gojou felt natural and organic because it grew from her spending time with him. It did not feel formulaic, like a heroine falling for a social outcast who rescued her from pushy thugs in an alley. Unfortunately, Sajuna’s introduction left a slightly sour taste. The formulaic fanservice accident is a quick way to build intimacy. But the rainy afternoon causing a naked bathroom mishap happens much too often. Compare this to Marin’s natural flashing from jumping around in a short skirt. Or to her playful fanservice in believable circumstances. Teasing a shy boy while behind a fitting room curtain is more credible than finding a silky, smooth girl in the bathroom. It’s a tiny misstep from My Dress-Up Darling. The anime has executed plot and character development well for Gojou and Marin’s relationship so far, so I hope it gets back on track for Sajuna’s story.

Heh.

For real? Yes, for real! Gojou thinks Marin is beautiful, and she can’t deal. Is this the first genuine compliment on her looks she’s ever heard? Could be! So, when does the My Dress-Up Darling episode title happen, and who says it? Let’s find out.

Later, Gojou looks well-rested. Good for him. It’s time to wash the Marin juices out of the Shizuku-tan costume. Is he sure he wants to do this? There’s good money in used bathwater, so used costumes could be a niche market. Oh, well. Marin wants to wear it again. Keep your options open, Gojou-kun!

Hoho! Marin crushes hard on Gojou. Marin-vision gives him the rosy background. My Dress-Up Darling shows her going full “doki-doki-kyuuunn~!” Huh? Gojou’s cousin thinks regular high school boys buy stockings for “reasons.” Haha! Grandpa Gojou feels more shocked at a girl in the house than Gojou holding a fancy dress. The kids didn’t do “anything inappropriate.” I don’t know about that. Marin liked how Gojou measured her inseam...

Grandpa Gojou thinks Gojou did fine work on Marin’s dress, but Gojou wants to do better. This shop talk makes Marin’s heart pitter-patter. Uh oh. She “wuvs” him! That nervous energy of crushing on a boy made her hungry. And that adorable boy can cook for her! Jump his bones, Marin-chan! Oho! Good to know. Marin lives alone, has a dead mother, and an absent father. My Dress-Up Darling fires up all those doujin scenarios! The father looks like a nice guy too, but work is work. I wonder if he shared his otaku interests with his daughter. Hey, convenience store fruit yogurt and chocolate milk make up a healthy breakfast! Nope, Marin, you need to eat at the Gojou’s from now on. Aw, Marin finds it tough to say good night now. And she wants to do “inappropriate” things with Gojou too! It’s “wuv, twu wuv!”

Suddenly a new player enters My Dress-Up Darling. Grandpa Gojou thinks Gojou is a well-liked dude. High school girls just drop by the Hina doll shop now. We know what Gojou did for two weeks, but what does Grandpa imagine happened while he was gone? Hey, no big deal. I’m just going to leave a high school boy alone with a naked high school girl. No big deal... I like Gojou’s reaction here. He has no friends besides Marin. Who scammed his grandpa? It’s a smooth-skinned short girl! She’s not hiding anything. She can’t! She’s naked! Blarrgh. Accidental, slippery fanservice... Here’s a clearly related memory of hairless Hina dolls. Silky smooth.

A juice box fixes everything in My Dress-Up Darling. Ah. Gojou believes the silky, smooth girl came to look at Hina doll dresses. Sajuna is older than Gojou! Oops. Sajuna is not here to see doll dresses. They still catch the eye, though. But that’s not why Sajuna went to the Gojou Doll Shop. Instead, she wants to talk to the guy who made the Shizuku-tan costume. Uh, Gojou doesn’t make outfits to order. Uh oh. Blackmail! Aha! Sajuna is Juju, the renowned cosplayer. Shimapan spotted. Ha! Reverse blackmail for stalking! Situation defused. Also, female cosplayers love stalking Gojou.

There’s the My Dress-Up Darling episode title. Marin can’t believe her cosplaying goddess is talking to Gojou. For real?! Marin loves it so much that Juju-sama stalked Gojou after finding her social media pictures. Well, not the stalking part. Sajuna wants Gojou to make Shion-tan’s Black Lily outfit. That’s the bag strap that Marin has. Marin’s explanation of the anime character impressed Sajuna. Her attitude of fitting her body type to match the anime character also amazed Sajuna. She likes those cosplayers the most! Marin is an ace rookie. Hee! Sajuna thought Marin and Gojou were a couple! Marin wuvs that idea. Hey, could she cosplay Neon-oneetama with Sajuna? Of course not! Next time, Marin and Gojou go on a wuvey-dovey date!
