Mieruko-chan makes sure to tease us with fanservice when it can. Showing Miko as she tries on a gift for her mother counts! The big news for the overall plot is that Hana and Miko's homeroom teacher will be on maternity leave.
The dramatic development came when Miko recognized her substitute homeroom teacher as the evil man haunted by cat spirits. The immense ghosts around the school started going berserk at the teacher's presence. Miko's job of not reacting to them became much harder.
Miko found Yulia eating lunch in the bathroom. Poor, lonely girl. Miko quickly invited Yulia to be her and Hana's lunch buddy. Yulia and Hana didn't understand why Miko became emotional as they talked about bread, but the audience saw what she saw. The massive spirits violently hate the substitute teacher, but they can't attack him for unrevealed reasons.
Hana wanted the prize of twenty donuts from walking through a haunted house exhibit. Miko saw the scare jump tactics as an opportunity to practice her nonreaction skills. Yulia still thought these two were expert ghostbusters testing her to join their Scooby Gang.
Halfway through the haunted maze, Miko realized she could blow off her stress by screaming and laughing at the monsters and killers in there. She could have fun! When a genuine ghost mixed in with the crowd, Miko saw a chance to speak to it directly. She yelled at it to leave her alone, and it did! The actors ignored her and continued chasing the girls to the exit. Yulia proved herself to be an "indoor" girl. She needs more exercise.
